With the change of seasons brings a fresh round of model calls for equine publications!!! My favorite season is Spring, for one reason only, FOALS!
Every year, the change between Winter and Spring seems to draaaaaag on, especially with your weekly false hopes of Spring, iced bitterly by Jack Frost or a heavy layer of wet snow that churns the ground to thick, boot-sucking muck under the hooves of horses bitten by their own Spring fever. Even when we pass into the constant 40oF+ weather, the trees seem to unsure, doubting the safety to open up and relax into their beautiful flowers and bright, light green leaves.
Maybe it’s because I am so impatient to get to the next season (who wouldn’t be after the winter we just got through!)? I am ready for Spring!! I am ready for new fresh, new colors, blue skies, sunrise and sunset shoots, and the excitement and adventures that foals give us!
I am opening the publication model call for 2019 foals! I will be searching over the next few weeks and will be booking for May and June! Hopefully by then the grass will be a bit greener and the trees will be relaxing into their summer greenery.
If you and your horses are interested in becoming a part of J.Klein Photos team for publications, please continue reading! Know of someone who would be perfect for this, send them my way! I would love to chat and find new opportunities with wonderful clients and beautiful horses!
Serious submissions only! Please read the list of needs and must haves before submitting your mare and foal for publication photoshoots!
// REQUIREMENTS:
Within 1 HOUR drive of MUSKEGON MI.
If you are outside of 1 HOUR drive and are interested in having me come photograph your horses, please contact to schedule a private photo shoot.
Clean and well groomed foals born in 2019 (must be a good representation of breed).
Please do not shave the foals. They are babies and the publications likes to have them in their foal coat. Trimming any excessive ear fuzzies is acceptable.
Clean, well groomed, and easy to handle mares, they may be included in several of the photographs and need to be looking their best!
Leather or black halters with lead ropes (no lead shanks or chains can be photographed due to advertising and educating safety for readers.)
A clean pasture or outdoor inclosed arena where we can allow the mare and foal to play and run.
Please ensure jumps, poles, barrels, etc. have been removed from any arenas.
Must have uncluttered background - no excessive or broken fencing, manure or junk piles, parking lots, power lines, etc.
Must have safe and solid outdoor footing for mare and goal to trot and canter over. If you do not have an outdoor pasture or arena, or are uncomfortable with free lunging or allowing your mare to run at liberty, this shoot will not be suitable for you.
Safe horsemanship and horse keeping practices are a must.
For any kids or adults that may be included in the photographs, please dress accordingly (proper riding or barn clothes in good condition, reflecting the future discipline the foal may be trained for).
