This summer is filled with weddings photographed along side of the amazing Kailee Marie Photography. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have her as a wedding partner, but I am enjoying every minute of it! Our work is so similar, and yet compliments each other so well, that Kailee and myself have a hard time telling who took what photograph!
I have heard from too many couples lately that the wedding industry is focus on the bride, her needs and dreams, often times leaving the groom out of decisions. To me, as a photographer, the groom’s memories of his wedding day are equally as important as the bride’s. This is why one of my favorite things about photographing weddings with Kailee is that as a team we can capture the entire day as both bride AND groom remember it. Before hand, we will decide which one of us will be photographing the bride and who will be photographing the groom, and over the course of the celebration, we will focus on the big moments together, but then the emotions as each bride and groom experience it.
Lately, while Kailee is with the bride and her girls, I have been with the groom and his boys. I photograph them getting ready, their formal party photographs, the little moments that happen in between with mom and dad, and of course all of the details that make up the wedding day. I focus on the groom’s, and often times the father’s emotions and reactions throughout the day, whether it is catching tears of happiness, or a split second of peace in a moment on the dance floor. At the end of the day, the newly weds will be able to enjoy their memories, instilled in a flush mount wedding album, that tells the story of how each fell even more in love as they became husband and wife.

This past Saturday, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house while Kaitlyn and Zach read their vows to each other and became Mr. & Mrs. Wang. If any two souls were made for each other, it would be these two. It was truly an honor (and a challenge not to cry myself!) to photograph the wedding day and all of their celebrations as two amazing families came together to embrace these lovebirds and the life they will lead together.
A big congratulations to the newly weds, and all the best wishes for a long and happy life, filled with much laughter and fun adventures!
