In December I received an email from one of my favorite clients, Miss. Booke! She was reaching out to me in hopes of having her senior photos completed early with fingers and toes crossed that we would have a bit of snow to brighten up the landscape. I had the pleasure of photographing Brooke at Curtis Performance Horses with her two horses, Super & Sarge, this past Spring. It resulted in a HUGE collection of fabulous photographs that I am still drooling over today (click HERE to see her Spring session!)! Brooke’s horses have very different personalities, but Brooke was at such ease with each of them, that I had a hard time ending the session; I wanted to photograph them and their relationships all day. So I jumped at the opportunity to photographing meet up with Brooke again!!
Although we captured her love for her horses, this time we focused more on Brooke. I don’t believe anyone could look at Brooke’s radiant and effortless smile and not feel the warm she provides to all who surround her. Even in the bitter windchills of December, she smiled with such ease and was unafraid to show her true self, despite her mom and sister fixing fly away hairs and jumping in to touch up her make up, or her wonderful trainer assisting in directing and handling the horses.
We worked quickly to squeeze in multiple clothing changes, the two horses outside and then inside against a black background, then headed downtown Ada to photograph Brooke by herself - minus all the horse slime! We laughed a lot, held on tightly to our hand warmers, and tried not to become popsicles! But it was worth being a bit cold for, because yet again, Brooke’s beauty shined through in every photograph, resulting in a wonderful collection of memories.
Here are a handful of favorites from our afternoon together.
