BISHOP

Last month I received an email from Tessa and Hansen asking if I had any availability to come and photograph her old pup that wasn’t doing very well. As quick as I could, a rearranged my schedule and was at their home within a week.
It was bitter cold with the winter wind howling through the surrounding fields. The snow fell gently as the sun stayed nestled away in a thick blanket of cloud. I was greeted by the sweetest but a bit unsure, gray faced black lab, named Bishop. As we sipped hot coffee and caught up in the warmth of the barn, I gave Bishop a chance to come meet me and become friends. We took a stash of Bishops favorite treats, his favorite toy, and dashed back and forth between the field, an old workshop, and the barn, documenting their memories and love together as a family. As we photographed, we showered Bishop with love, spoiled him with his treats, tried to see who could make his tail wag the most, and played catch and fetch with his favorite toy, always ensuring he was happy, comfortable, and confident.

Bishop had health concerns, but he seemed happy and able during our photoshoot. Sadly, within a week of our session, Bishop passed away, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was a special pup, one that was loved tremendously - and who will continue to be loved. I am incredibly thankful that Tessa and Hansen reached out when they did, and that together, we were able to document the love Bishop brought to their lives.

If you have a senior animal - please don’t wait to have your memories together captured.
These images of Bishop have become priceless and will be treasured forever by Tessa and Hansen.

Rest in Peace handsome Bishop. You’ll always be a good boy. <3
