I had the pleasure of photographing Mady and her lovely mare, Cami, while traveling through Kentucky this year. Cami has been recovering from an injury, but was eager to participate in an Equine Portrait Session, for the extra attention of bathing and mental enrichment of the toys we had and the poses we were asking from her.
These sessions are great for the horse’s brain, and require less moving around then they would normally do in their stall. Of course I always want to know the extent of the injury, to ensure we aren’t over asking from the horse, and that we provide a positive experience for both the horse and owner.
And Cami posed like a pro! Giving us all the classic and luxury poses, as well as showing off her shiny shoes and silly smile for treats. These were my favorites of her black background portraits, and a handful of them with a white background.
