Nancy and Samantha enjoyed a mother and daughter, horse and rider photoshoot, with their two retired dressage horses, Zaf, a gray Andalusian and Zoom, a bay Arabian. This was an extra fun photoshoot, because Samantha travels from California to Michigan, to join in the fun and capture the bond she has with her horse, Zoom, and the generational love for horses that she has with her mother.

We chose to photograph this location in the evening, to avoid shooting while the adjacent hayfield was being baled, and to capture the best lighting on the drive way, the trails, the arena, and on the historical barns that has become home to these horses. It was the best decision, as it gave us the most variety in backgrounds, and allowed us time to photograph their individual relationships and love with their horses, and group photos of everyone, both posed and authentic candids.
