It has always been a joy to photograph for Darcey!
Last Winter, Darcey had both of her horses in training with Katie Foster Snowdin at Canterworks Dressage, in Wellington, Florida. I traveled down from Michigan to Florida to photographed both them in a Horse & Rider photoshoot, capturing both portraits and action shots under saddle.
This year, Darcey wanted to focus on photographing the progress she has made with Vivi under saddle. Her trainer, Katie, warmed up Vivi for Darcey, and then coached her through her ride while I photographed. Having a trainer coach during a riding shoot can be beneficial, as they know exactly where the riders strengths are, and where to gently remind them of their riding position, and to smile! This also allows me to photograph the relationship and memories you have with your trainer too.
Darcey’s family, from Pennsylvania, were visiting the week of our photoshoot, so after we photographed them under saddle, we jumped at the opportunity to also photograph her memories with her incredibly supportive husband, and her two grand daughters, who are both young equestrians themselves.

““I have had 2 sessions with Jesse. My first session was with both of my mares. It was so fun! Jesse’s eye for what makes a great picture is amazing. All I had to do was smile and she did the rest. My mares are not friends....:) so she had to photo shop them together. It looks so natural..one would never know. I enjoyed my time with her so much that I decided to have a second session one year later. Now I have posed pictures and riding pictures with both mares. Jesse is so fun to work with, she gives you sneak peaks in a short amount of time. She is super organized. My second session it just so happened that my husband and 2 of my grand daughters were there. I asked if there was any chance of having them in a few pictures. She was so sweet about it and the pictures are treasures to me. I highly recommend Jesse. She is a true professional in every way.””
