Amanda, Miller & Solo

It has always been equally nerve wracking as it is an honor to photograph for another equine photographer, especially one as incredible as Amanda Jordan from Buck It Equine! I traveled from Michigan to Atlanta Georgia to photograph Amanda’s personal bond with her retired thoroughbred, Miller, and her rescue pitbull, and to create updated marketing images of her with her beloved animals and her camera.

We, as photographers, aren’t the best being on the front side of a camera, but it’s really important to be showing our own faces on social media and our websites. Being asked to photographed another well known photographer can be intimidating (hello imposter syndrome), but once I arrived, we bonded over our mutual love of photographing horses and awkwardness of being in FRONT of the camera, we settled into a rhythm of photographing, laughing, and loving on Amanda’s animals.

We originally had a very short list of goals for this shoot, but in the midst of all our fun, we ended up photographing for much longer, and capturing a lot more than expected. Amanda’s retired thoroughbred was the perfect gentleman for his Equine Portraits, was engaged for both his photos with Amanda and Solo, as well as being a prop for her photographing business marketing photos, and Solo - well, Solo was the ultimate clown during the photoshoot! 😆 I don’t think I’ve laughed that much over a dog I just met, but he was a hoot to work with, giving us action shots, serious and the goofiest portraits, engaging in group photos with Amanda and Solo, blooper bombed other images, and eagerly assisted me every chance he could!

At the end of the day, I walked away with bunch of new friends, my soul refueled with happiness and passion for photography, and a collection of photographs that I can not stop swooning over! These were many of my favorites from Amanda’s photoshoot!
