After a bit of drama surrounding the original date of our photoshoot, and having to shelter in place for tornados, we were finally able to connect with Corey and her Boykin Spaniel, Drambuie, and 14 year old labrador retriever, Nellie, during our trip to Indianapolis, Indiana. You may recognize Drambuie’s smile, as he is related to the two Boykins from Flying High K9s that I photograph regularly here in Michigan.
His genetics are thick! Drambuie was so eager to please, quick as a whip, never stopped smiling, and while he's been in pools, he braved the waves on the Eagle Creek Reservoir and completed his very first water retrieval! It made the photoshoot more sentimental for Corey, and a great experience for Drambuie, as he quickly found out that he likes to gazelle jump into the water. He has yet to figure out the witchcraft behind where the sticks disappear to when he stands on them in the water though...
Nellie joined us for half of the photoshoot, cheesing from ear to ear, happy to tag along for as much of the adventures as her old joints and ticker could safely allow her. She supervised Drambuie’s poses, and then stepped perfectly into place for her photos, letting us capture her beautiful sugar and the iconicity squishable face. She was almost left at home, but I was thrilled to have her company and the opportunity to photograph her beauty.
They both were a joy to work with; the young and spunky Drambuie and loveable and lumbering Nellie. These were a few of the photos from their photoshoot!
