I have always enjoyed photographing Hailey and her show and sporting dogs, so I was disappointed when we had to reschedule our session TWICE due to rain.
However, it was well worth the wait!
We snuck in our photoshoot right before an family, with enough members to fill a village, arrived at the same Grand Rapids, Michigan, park for their photoshoot too. That in itself is why I prefer to photograph dogs early in the morning. Locations are typically quieter, allowing the dog to relax and focus on their owner's directions throughout the photoshoot, and to let their personality and loveable quirks shine through. With an empty park, we also didn't have to worry about Roaree splashing in the creeks and then get other people soggy after rushing to great them! 😅
For this photoshoot, Hailey wanted to create portraits of her Australian Shepherd, Roaree, images that show cased their bond, and to capture candid images of the tricks they have been practicing since their previous photoshoot. These were a handful of our favorite photographs from our morning canine photoshoot!
