Achelous , the Czechoslovakian Vlcak

Every year I visit Kalamazoo during the UKC Premier Nationals dog show, and offer exclusive mini sessions in downtown or at the nearby college campus, for the show dogs that come from all over the USA to compete.
Jenna has enjoyed photoshoots in the past with me, and was eager to reserve a spot on my schedule to have her young Czechoslovakian Vlcak, named Achelous, photographed just after sunrise in down town.

If you aren’t familiar with the breed, here is a bit about them …

“The Czechoslovakian Vlcak is the result of a biological experiment that began in 1955 with the deliberate crossing of a German Shepherd Dog with a Carpathian Wolf. These experimental breedings continued for ten years, and in 1965 a plan was created for the breeding of this new breed, which combined the usable qualities of the wolf with the favorable qualities of the dog. In 1982 the Czechoslovakian Vlcak was recognized as a national breed in the former Czechoslovakian Republic. The Czechoslovakian Vlcak was recognized by the United Kennel Club in July 1, 2006.” (source and for more info, click here to visit the UKC website)

Jenna’s goal for this photoshoot was to create portraits to use as fine art in her home. These were a handful of my favorites from their photoshoot!

🚨 If you’re interested in being notified for the next canine mini sessions, please email me to be added to my contact list. All those on that list will be the first to know about these exclusive opportunities! 🚨
