Yes! I have a thin photography halter, or as I call it the “Naked Halter,” we can use to help keep your horse safe and secure while photographing through the farm’s property. It will later be removed during the editing process, giving you the natural photos you dream of!
If you would like to use it, please ask! It is always in my assistant’s bag of tricks and toys.
-
Not at all!
Majority of the dogs I photograph remain on leash, with the leash removed during the editing process. This allows us to stay safe, no matter the level of training on your dog OR the location we choose, while getting the photographs you dream of!
-
Horse & Rider Sessions can be customized between using natural landscapes throughout the property, photographing
You + Your Horse
You + Your Dog
You + Your Horse AND Dog (as long as they are comfortable near each other. If compositions needs to be built, there may be an additional fee to cover the extensive editing time required.)
Equine Portrait Sessions - aka Black or White Background Portraits are structured differently, due to the location and editing requirements. I prefer to photograph the horses and dogs individually, and create compositions in photoshoot. This ensures that everyone involved stays safe, feels comfortable and is displaying positive body language in the resulting photos. Due to extensive editing process, including your dog in your equine portrait session will be accompanied with a small fee. Click HERE to view all pricing and packages.

I also have a dog that is reactive to unknown dogs. From owning that, I understand that quiet locations, with longer visibility, are the best options. Keeping your dog on leash (removed in editing) will also ensure additional safety. All of this allows us to either move your dogs off the trail or to another location, should we see or pass others during the photoshoot.
I have no problem sending a client the opposite direction, while directing another stranger with dogs to provide a safe buffer. Not all dogs are friendly - Just like all people aren’t friendly. Photoshoots are not the time to do doggie meet and greets.
The locations I frequent are quiet, and we rarely see other people or come across off leash dogs. If you would like me to come to your home property, please let me know! I’m happy to come to you if it means your dog can feel comfortable, come out of their shell, and have a positive experience!

These sessions only requiring a fully shaded doorway wide enough for your horse to stand and turn around in. A barn aisle with a hard floor is preferred, but an arena doorway or an open garage door will also work! I do advise that the area is tidied up, lights can be turned off, and additional doors can be closed. NO spooky artificial lights or paper/cloth backdrops required! Further details included in complimentary prep guides.
