ABOUT THESE WORKSHOPS
During these workshops, we will be embarking on a three day photography journey with a maximum of eight, like minded photographers, learning Jesse’s personal process of creating equine portraits, backed by the positive experience she provides for every client. Equine Portraits are wildly popular, and are sought after by both the owners as fine art for their homes, as well as equestrian brands for commercial marketing. We’ll be splitting our time between a classroom environment and visiting local show barns, where we practice new skills, both when working with clients and photographing horse models.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
This workshop is geared toward professional photographers (full time or part time), who have a background knowledge of horses, and want to elevate their skills in photographing and editing Equine Portraiture for fine art or commercial use. Familiarity with both your camera equipment and Photoshop is required. Ability to be on your feet photographing for extended periods of time in rain or shine is required. These are LONG days, so please be prepared to take notes and soak up a LOT of information. Jesse doesn’t not hold back any education during these workshops!
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
DSLR or Mirrorless camera, and either a 70-200mm, 85mm or a 135mm lens (Jesse will be shooting on a 135mm). Multiple camera batteries and memory cards to last for a full day of photography. A laptop with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge software + memory card reader. External hard drives are encouraged for safe storage of files. (Rain gear for yourself AND camera equipment is highly recommended.)
LOCATION
These workshops will be taking place in the greater Grand Rapids Michigan or Wellington Florida areas. Please be sure to make reservations promptly, as availability for lodging and rental cars during the busy seasons are limited.
For Michigan workshops… Flying through Gerald R. Ford Airport and lodging in the greater Grand Rapids area is recommended. Vehicle rentals are available at this airport (traveling within 1 hour radius of Grand Rapids will be required).
For Florida workshops… Flying through West Palm Beach Airport and lodging in the West Palm or Wellington area is recommended. Vehicle rentals are available at this airport (traveling within a 1 hour radius of Wellington will be required.).
Carpooling or renting AirBNB with other students is encouraged, and a great way to harbor new friendships with your fellow photographers!
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Jesse Klein has over a decade of professional photography and entrepreneur experience, creating a multi six figure business, and leading the industry with her Equine Portraiture work. Traveling throughout the country, Jesse specializes in equine behavior, which when partnered with fine art skills, creates highly sought after photography that incorporates the true essence of the horse’s individual spirits, breed standards and riding disciplines.
Jesse’s work has been featured in nationally and internationally recognized publications (such as Horse & Rider, Young Rider, Horse Illustrated, etc.), representing household brands (such as SmartPak, Stateline Tack, LeMieux, etc.), can be heard through The Equestrian Photographer’s Podcast, and has been a keynote speaker multiple times for the Hair of the Dog Academy Summit.
Most importantly, Jesse is rooted in her beliefs that learning and supporting each other, in a positive community is the best way to grow. No matter where you are in your photography journey, there is something that can be learned from everyone. We do not gatekeep information, but instead encourage those with the drive to grow, to flourish with the education and new skills learned during your time spent with Jesse, and fellow like-minded students, during these workshops.
