Mary and Glenn have been close friends for 15 years, so long that our friendship predates my love for photography!! (Now THAT makes me feel old!!) We have trained dogs for the disabled, for the show ring, for the police, tracking, field trials, SARs, agility, you name it! As different dogs came and went through life, Mary and Glenn have always had a pack of goldens of their own.
I have always enjoyed spending time with their goldens, going for walks through the woods and along the ocean, as well as just letting their energy out on the grassy airstrip down the road. Over the years, this allowed me the chance to fine tune my skills photographing dogs and to have the opportunity to give Mary and Glenn photographs of their goldens from pups to adults.
It was hard, and still is difficult, to be so far away from them now. It's not easy to locate dogs that are so well mannered or trained that you can dream up a photograph and then have an animal model for you, for as long as needed, until your dream photograph is captured! I even have a few 16x20 photographs of the goldens in my own home!
Here are a handful of my favorites from our evening photoshoot overlooking the Appalachian Trail.
With continual interest for me to return to Maine to photograph, I will be planning an annual trip in the fall of 2019.
Please let me know if you are interested in a photoshoot in Maine, and I can add you to my Maine client list to stay in touch as details become more defined!
All packed in, ready to roll! I am counting down the days until I can photograph this bunch of smiles again in 2019.
Until next year beautiful goldens! <3
