High school senior photos - but for the equestrian at heart.
Kaycie and Phillip spent the evening being photographed in celebration of Kaycie's upcoming high school graduation in a Horse & Rider Photoshoot at Westwood Farms in Oxford, Michigan. During photoshoots for seniors, I offer to customize the photoshoot to not only capture the bond the senior has with their horse, the equestrian lifestyle they have thrived in, but also any school year book needs/requirements, as well as any family requests (not all family members are as horse obsessed as we are, and would rather have photos of their kiddo by themselves.).
I prefer to start photographing the senior, in this case, Miss. Kaycie, with her hunter jumper horse, Phillip. Having someone else to focus on (Phillip), to distract Kaycie from having the camera clicking, allows her time and space to relax into the laid back rhythm of the photoshoots I offer. Lighting wise, I preferred to photograph Phillip’s dark coat in more lighting, and then as the sun set further, we switched gears to photograph Kaycie by herself. By then, Kaycie was confident with herself in front of my camera, allowing us to capture her solo photos quickly (before I stepped on a bee and hobbled the rest of the way through the shoot and back to the barn!).
Her trust in me, to capture her true spirit and the memories she cherries at the barn, made it really hard to narrow down her gallery. These were only a handful of photos from her session.
J.Klein Photos is based out of Michigan, but available for travel throughout the USA.
