“You photograph a LOT of Boykin Spaniels!”

I do! But most of the Boykins I photograph belong to my virtual assistant, Beth. 😆 We photograph her dogs every season, in new locations throughout west Michigan, capturing all portraits, stacked shots, and action shots!

During this photoshoot, we met on a quiet Sunday morning in down town Grand Haven, Michigan, to photograph her stud dog, Karn, in both urban and city park background settings. We looped through the small town buildings, looking for a variety of colors and textures, that would tie in his training background of a therapy dog, as well as a hunting dog.

We mixed up our time, photographing portraits, and then letting Karn break for play. This ensure’s he receives a healthy balance between staying for poses and letting loose for a reward of play time. During his playtime, I continued photographing, capturing action shots, and keeping the photoshoot short and fun, for both Karn and his owner!

*Important to remember - like most dogs I photograph. Karn remained on leash during his photoshoot, even during play time. His leash was later removed in editing. This guarantees the dog’s safety in an urban environment.
