A lot can be said between a horse and their owner within silent exchanges of body language. It's the ease of energy, the quiet smiles or trusting glances that linger, the subconscious decisions to be near each other, the flick of the ears to check in, or the softest touches of love.
As I photographed Phoebe and her dressage horse, Cherry, at Deer Meadow Farm in Wellington, Florida, I knew that this relationship was one that defined who they were, and who they were becoming together. Cherry is a horse that Phoebe will always deeply love, no matter how much time passes, and I knew these images were going to mean the world to her.
These feelings were consistent throughout our photoshoot, from Equine Portraits, to Horse & Rider portraits around the barn, to under saddle movement in the arena, and silhouettes as the sun set. It was truly an honor to spend time with them, photographing the moments that mean the most, and the ones that will be cherished for decades to come.
